LISTEN: New Nadine Shah

The Quietus

The singer has shared title track ‘Holiday Destination’, for her album out August 25. Additional live show dates below.

Nadine Shah has released the title track for her new album, Holiday Destination out August 25. Listen above.

The song is the last of the album's singles, which also include music videos for 'Yes Men' and 'Out The Way'.

The album is mostly politically motivated, with ‘Holiday Destination’’s refrain, “how you gonna sleep tonight?” in response to, as Shah says: “this really harrowing news piece about migrants and refugees arriving on the shores of Kos in Greece by the thousands. There were some holidaymakers being interviewed and they were talking about how the situation was ruining their holiday”.

Through the track and album Shah is thus able to question the “hate fuelled rhetoric” currently crossing the globe in an entertaining, artistic, and captivating way.

Shah is also performing several shows in support of the album, with tickets on sale now. The dates are as follows:

16 Citadel, London

25 Rough Trade, London

1-3 End of the Road, Salisbury 17 Beyond the Tracks, Birmingham

10 Sage Gateshead, Gateshead 11 Oran Mor, Glasgow 13 Brudendell Social Club, Leeds 14 The Leadmill, Sheffield 15 The Globe, Cardiff 16 Band on the Wall, Manchester 19 O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London
